I stand against hate.

Hate has many forms. Racism, sexism, misogyny, ableism, heterosexism, and more. They are ALL wrong. Making people feel like they aren’t good enough and don’t belong is WRONG. It DAMAGES people. Taking advantage of hate to get power or make money is WRONG.

Why am I making such strong statements? Because I know that when I have felt crushed by hate, I often felt alone and like no one cared that it was happening. If you are feeling exhausted or crushed by the discrimination and hate around you or directed toward you, know that you are not alone and your feelings make sense.

I recently found a website that can help those of us who need to know we aren’t alone. It is called Everyday Feminism and a good starting point is their Feminism 101 page. In case your brain just reacted to the word “feminism”, please know that feminism is a social justice movement. The focus is on getting everyone’s human rights to matter, with a focus on the human rights of women. True feminism is not about stomping on the rights of others to get women’s rights; it’s about fairness for everyone.

A lot of mistakes have been made on the learning curve of humanity and civilization.; this has created a world of injustice and harm to many groups of people. My view is that ultimately the human brain is to blame; it needs to be tamed in order for us to all have a chance at a good life, and we haven’t been taming it. We’ve been and still are to a large degree leaving our brains on autopilot; that’s a problem for everybody. To get your brain off autopilot, learn about emotional intelligence. The tools on my website can help you take the power back from your autopilot brain and be in charge of your life.
